I understand how you don’t see how other ships can happen, but not all people just see the “strict cannon” that everyone else does. For example, Rachel/Percy was a very strong candidate for happening. And if it did happen, I actually wonder how many Percabeth shippers that are so strongly for it would actually be completely for Rachel/Percy or whatever the name for it is. Then, there’s the shippers that just don’t care. Luke/Percy, Nico/Percy, etc etc. And then there’s the shippers that love crack way too much and would pair anyone with anyone just to see how it goes.
I, actually, do different ships as a way to sort of help me with writing. I can come up with ways that it happens—even if it isn’t cannon. It’s fun. You should try it.

Wow…that’s extremely mature and not, you know, something really terrible. Just because somebody has a different opinion than you, you want to drown them?
